Stay at an Alabama Bed and Breakfast in Leesburg

When staying in Leesburg, a small town in northeast Alabama, consider a B&B rather than hotels. Leesburg has a population of about 1,000 and is located on the southernmost part of the Cumberland Plateau and the southwestern slope of Lookout Mountain. Lookout Mountain has gorgeous scenery with long views of the Tennessee River, Weiss Lake on the Chattanooga River, and parts of Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia. Natural attractions are the caves of Ruby Falls and the rock formations of “Rock City”. It is home to an incline railway, Covenant College and a hang gliding school. The “Last Battle of the Cherokees” during the Nickajack Expedition was fought here along “The Narrows” of the Tennessee River in 1794. Also the 1863 Lookout Mountain Battlefields are part of the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park (National Park Service). The visitor center is located at the top of Lookout Mountain next to Point Park.
