The city of Luverne, the county seat for Crenshaw County, is just 20 minutes west of Troy, and 20 minutes east of Greenville. The SMART plant, a Hyundai supplier, and Sister Schubert Rolls are two factories located in Luverne. There is a historic downtown district where shoppers can browse for antiques and vintage & thrift. There are boutiques as well, and even an ice cream parlor. There are restaurants that serve country cooking, steaks and seafood, as well as a Chinese restaurant and a Mexican restaurant. Luverne is on Hwy 331, a major route to Florida’s sugar sand beaches and is a little over two hours away from Ft Walton, Destin and Panama City, FL.
