The Camellia House Bed & Breakfast is located one block south of the historic downtown on Highway 331, locally known as South Forest Avenue. It is a late Victorian, built in 1904, by Frazier M. Douglass. The house was kept in the family until 1998, when it was sold to Dr. Alys Hayden. She, in turn, sold the house to Tim and Kathy Dowdy in 2003. The house then underwent an extensive renovation and opened for business that same year as a bed and breakfast. The house has four guest rooms, each with in-suite bathroom. There is a handicapped access ramp available and guests are treated to a full, home-cooked breakfast each morning. There is a wrap-around porch where guests can congregate. In 2016, a carriage house was added to the property. The carriage house provides lodging for long-term guests as well as overnight guests, based upon availability. It features two bedrooms, each with a private bath, and a living room with an efficiency kitchen. There is a large porch for the carriage house and an access ramp as well.
